Ouzoud Waterfalls Day Escape
At 8 AM: We’re heading about 3 hours out of the city into the High Atlas foothills to check out the Ouzoud Waterfalls. It’s a solid drive through some cool countryside and olive groves, giving you a chance to actually see what life looks like outside the city walls.
Once we roll up to the village, you’ll get that first look at the falls dropping over 300 feet into the gorge, it’s a massive view and definitely worth the trip alone.
We’ll hike down the canyon paths to reach the base of the falls. It's not a crazy hike, but you’ll want real shoes because the ground can be a bit uneven. Keep an eye out for the local Barbary macaques hanging out in the trees along the way. Once we’re at the bottom, we’ll hop on a local boat to get you right into the mist for the best views and photos.
Lunch is totally optional and kept low-key at the riverside cafés. Don't expect fine dining here; it’s all about local dishes like slow-cooked tagines and fresh Moroccan salads. You get to eat right by the water with a front-row seat to the cascades.
After soaking up the mist, we’ll head back up the trail, hitting a few more panoramic viewpoints.
Back in Marrakech by early evening, just in time for dinner. It’s a straightforward, beautiful day trip that hits the reset button on your Morocco adventure.
